Remedy Entertainment has provided some more details on its current projects in a business review report, confirming that it's finishing up work on this year's release of CrossfireX, and moving on to a big AAA project with Epic Games.
Let's start with CrossfireX. Remedy is handling the single-player portion of the Xbox exclusive first-person shooter, which doesn't have a release date yet, and says it's currently "finalising the single-player operations" for that game.
Perhaps the more interesting part of the review relates to a planned AAA project with Epic Games, however, which has been rumoured by more than one person to be a sequel to the Xbox 360's Alan Wake.
"Remedy’s AAA game project with Epic Games is soon moving into full production, and the second, smaller-scale game continues in full production mode."
Finally, Remedy is also working on a free-to-play co-op game called Vanguard. The team says it has "now defined many of the core elements of the game," and is "starting the next phase of closed external gameplay testing."
Lots to take in there, then, and we're just hopeful the Alan Wake 2 rumours are true. Make it happen, Remedy!
Excited for CrossfireX? Hoping Alan Wake 2 is the AAA game project? Tell us down in the comments.

Every time this game is mentioned this commercial hearkens back from my childhood https://youtu.be/rCwn1NTK-50
I didn't realize Remedy was making this. Day one for me.
I played through Alan Wake in the last few days, before its removal from Game Pass, and absolutely loved it, so I'm definitely keen on a sequel.
Until then I'm going to play through the two DLC chapters (I own the game on Steam but had already started it on Xbone so wanted to finish it on there).
@SegataSanshiro I agree 100% love Max Payne but everything else remedy have made I don't care for
One of my favourite developers. Starting with Max Payne on PC while I was in uni. I skipped the Xbox One due to a lack of exclusives compared to PS4 but am now enjoying Quantum Break (and Forza/Gears/Halo/Sunset Overdrive etc) on Series X through Gamepass. Control was my favourite game of 2019. Their games aren't for everyone but if you can delve into all the reading/lore/fictional science stuff, the sometimes repetitive gameplay can be overlooked in my opinion.
Let's hope they do return to Alan Wake world with a sequel. It would be great news!
